Born and raised in Bijuwa village of Kapilvastu, Aalok Kumar Shukla completed his schooling from Kapilvastu-Chhatrapali Tirthadevi Madhyamik Vidyalaya. Later, he finished BA SPDC from Gorakhpur University and LLB from Kathmandu campus. Then he set his foot in the film industry by pursuing Postgraduate in Cinematography from FTII Pune, India. During the course, he was involved in various short movies. He has worked as a cinematographer in feature films such as Lahure, Love station, America boys and Sano man. Lahure was the first feature film he worked in but is yet to be released.
