Kala Sangroula was born on August 19, 1988 in Jhapa district of Nepal. As a child, she enjoyed watching TV and participated in cultural programs, particularly dance. Her early interest in the arts led her to join a theater group called Gurukul. In 2010, Sangroula enrolled in Oscar International College's College of Film Studies, where she made several student short films and a music video. She also worked as an AD and art director on a few feature films. After graduating in 2014, she worked as a production designer on the films Lori, Aina Jhyal Ko Putali, and Echo of Sound. Over the course of her career, Sangroula has gained experience in various aspects of film making and has a particular talent for creating intimate fictional stories for the screen.
